How much do automatic driving lessons cost in Cork?

Students and frontline workers get 10% off with valid ID, bringing the full EDT course down to €594.

Can I take my official driving test in an automatic car?

Yes. If you pass your test in an automatic, your licence will be restricted to automatic vehicles. Many people find this a straightforward trade-off — automatics are increasingly common and remove a significant layer of complexity from the test itself.

What is EDT and how many lessons do I need?

EDT stands for Essential Driver Training. It's the RSA-mandated minimum training programme for learner drivers who got their provisional licence after April 2011. The full programme is 12 lessons, each with a specific syllabus topic. You cannot sit your driving test without completing EDT.

What's the difference between a Pre-Test Lesson and a Mock Test?

A Mock Test is a full simulation of the official driving test — same routes, same assessment criteria, written feedback at the end. A Pre-Test Lesson is a focused tune-up session in the days before your test, working on specific areas rather than a full assessment.

Can I hire your car for my driving test?

Yes, subject to eligibility. You must have either completed a Mock Driving Test with DriveIQ or completed a minimum of 6 hours of lessons with me. This policy exists to make sure you're genuinely prepared, not to create a barrier.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum of 24 hours notice for all cancellations or changes to a lesson. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur the full lesson fee.

Where do you collect from?

I collect from across Cork City and Mallow. I'm based at the Wilton RSA test centre area and regularly cover UCC, MTU, and the surrounding hospital campuses.

Absolutely. Automatic transmission removes a lot of the mechanical anxiety that comes with learning to drive. If you've had a bad experience with lessons before, or you haven't driven in years, get in touch and we'll take it at whatever pace works for you.

Just bring a valid Student ID or HSE / Hospital Staff ID at the time of your first lesson. The 10% discount applies to all lesson packages.
